Top tips for food and wine pairings

A lot of people find it tricky when it comes to finding a wine to pair with a delicious meal they’ve made. We’ve put together some of our top tips to help you out at your next dinner party…
Having something sweet?
If you’re having something sweet, you would do well to pair a wine with it that’s a little tart. Sweet and fatty foods work well with wines that are more acidic.
Feeling spicy?
If you’re going for something a little bit spicy in your dish, go for a wine with a lower alcohol content. Alcohol accentuates the oils that make spicy food hot, so a high alcoholic content wine mixed with spicy foods, could leave your mouth feeling like it’s on fire.
Digging into fish or chicken?
Fish or chicken dishes work really well with white wines, particularly our Bacchus and Ortega English wines, which are available to purchase right here on our online shop.
Stick to what you know
Only you know what wines you like, so if you enjoy a glass of something with any meal, whatever it is, stick to your guns. As long as you enjoy it, that’s all that matters!
